Editing is crucial! You need to
learn to read your own writing with a critical look and make appropriate
changes.
Many students tell us they do not know what to look
for in their own writing. This is a skill you
have to develop. A good way to start is to look at your friends'
writing and make comments.
Remember to use your spelling checker.
You can add words to the spelling checker dictionary. Don't forget
to add the words you need, e.g., technical words, author's names,
place names and acronyms, so that they will be spelled correctly
and consistently.
Try this task
to practice editing and proofreading.
